Kathie Regina Tinsley (Harper) was called home to be with the Lord on Friday, July 8, 2016. She will forever be remembered for her endless love and support of family. For Kathie, family was not a title given based on blood. There are so many that call her mom, grandma, sister, friend and to her they were all family.
Kathie was born in Baltimore, Maryland to Joyce Muller (Harper) and Frank Williams on February 3, 1958. Her mother left this earth in February 2016 and her father survives. She married Joel Tinsley, Sr. in 1977 and raised 7 children, Joel Tinsley-Hall (husband Scott), Tesha Tinsley, Darrell Tinsley, Myron Tinsley (wife Melissa), Felicia Tinsley-Mason (husband Joseph), Alicia Tinsley and Deonte Evans. She joins one sister in heaven, Rosalind Hudson, and leaves behind 6 siblings, Michael Muller, Diane Harris, Darlene Muller, Renee Thomas, Daryl Hudson, and Kevin Hudson. The joy of her life was her grandchildren, Ashel, Anaya, Derrick, Journee, Morn'eah, Janoah, Joyce LaRay and Joseph. She also leaves behind her companion Lonnie Johnson and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
To say Kathie found joy in her family is quite the understatement. If her family smiled, she smiled. That was all that mattered. She also enjoyed searching for antiques and treasures, making jewelry and selling Mary Kay. Often times you would hear her humming one of those oldie but goodies or a spiritual hymn. Music was food for her soul.
Kathie lived her life to serve others before herself. That life and memory will live on in everyone she called family.
