On March 16, 2016, Kenneth Stanley King, 87, passed away at his home. He was born in Baltimore, Maryland, on April 25, 1928, to the late Gertrude and James King. Ken served his country proudly in the U.S. Navy from 1946-1948 as a Gunner aboard the U.S.S. Power (DD-839) During WWII. He went on to work as a splicer and union representative with CandP Telephone for 43 years. He was a member of the Glen Burnie Moose Lodge and the Pioneer Club. Ken volunteered with Meals on Wheels and Partners in Care. He enjoyed fishing, watching the Orioles, Ravens, and Terps, NASCAR, and was an avid watcher of the World Poker Tour.
Ken was predeceased by his beloved son, Richard D. King. He is survived by his loving children, Christine King, Michael King and his wife Victoria, and John King; eight beloved grandchildren and eleven cherished great-grandchildren.
The family will receive visitors at Singleton Funeral and Cremation Services, 1 2nd Ave, SW (at Crain Hwy) in Glen Burnie, on Monday, March 21st, from 3-5 and 7-9 PM.
