Marion Ries

Marion Ries, 84, a resident of Glen Burnie for 59 years, passed away on April 1, 2014. She was born in New York City on September 28, 1929 to the late William and Viola Hanousek. Marion was a member of the Red Hat Society, the Pascal Senior Center and was a volunteer for USO at BWI for over 20 years. She enjoyed spending time with her family, crabbing and fishing, gardening, ceramics, traveling, reading and was an avid Ravens fan. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jerome Ries and sister, Dorothy Michaels.
She is survived by her five children, Kathleen Goldstein, William Ries and wife Rosemary, Linda Johnston and husband Randy, Joan Cantrell and husband Ernest and Jay Ries and wife Karen; eight grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Patricia Piegare and Barbara Quitoni. She is also survived by many extended family friends.
