Mary Koucheravy

On November 10, 2005, Mary "Marie" Wilma Koucheravy of Glen Burnie passed away after a courageous battle with cancer. The devoted wife of the late George Koucheravy for 49 years; Beloved mother of George Koucheravy, Ed Koucheravy, Elizabeth McCarthy, Ellen Cutshaw, John Koucheravy, Mary Kort, Richard Koucheravy and Julia Holtkamp; Caring sister-in-law of Peg & Russ Maymon; Dearest sister of the late Elizabeth Deakin; Cherished grandmother of 18.

Marie graduated from Scotch Plain High School in New Jersey. She then attended the Jersey City Medical School of Nursing and graduated with a degree in nursing. She worked part-time at St. Agnes Hospital and also worked at Ft. Dix as an Army nurse where she would meet her future husband. Marie work from 1968 to 1996 at North Arundel Hospital in the PAC Unit until she retired. She volunteered for Birth Right in Glen Burnie and was an active member of St. Philip Neri Catholic Church. She enjoyed reading and crossword puzzles. Maries also loved to spend time with her family and especially her grandchildren. She loved to travel and to knit (she knitted all her childrens' Christmas stockings). Marie also took care of many people in their time of need.
