Mary Miceli

Mary L. Miceli (Hartmann), 73, of Glen Burnie, MD, passed away on May 2, 2017, at Holy Cross Hospital, following multiple strokes. She was visiting her son in Fort Lauderdale, Fl. She was born in Baltimore to the late Mary and Frederick Hartmann. Mary graduated from Fourteen Holy Martyrs Catholic School and later attended Southern High School in Baltimore. Before Mary began her tour at the National Security Agency, holding both the title of Secretary and Administrative Technician, she was employed as a bank teller, medical secretary and also a substitute teacher. She retired from NSA in November 2012. Mary was a vivacious and bubbly woman, full of energy and had the ability "to get things done". She was kind, thoughtful, and able to lift the spirits of all- friends, family and co-workers alike. Just a few of Mary's many interests included being a member of Friends on the Go and Guild for Life, which took her to many different museums, battlefields and even a tour of the Harley Davidson factory, which she enjoyed very much. One of the mainstays of Mary's life was joining in a regularly scheduled "poker night" for well over 40 years, with seven selected friends, once a month (held in one of the poker player's home). Of course, Mary never let social activities interfere with her being a long standing attendee of the Heritage Church of God in Severn, as well as being a member of its Bible study class.
Mary is survived by her loving children, Patrick Acree (Kitty), Tona Ives, Tony Miceli (Harold) and Tim Miceli (Tina); 10 beloved grandchildren; and three cherished great-grandchildren, with one on the way.
Visitation will be held at Singleton Funeral & Cremation Services, Glen Burnie, on Thursday, May 11th and Friday, May 12th, from 2-4 & 7-9 PM. A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, 11 AM, in the funeral home chapel. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to Autism Speaks by visiting www.autismspeaks.org or an animal rescue of one's choice.
