Maryrose DiPillo, 72, passed away on April 27, 2017. A Catholic school teacher in New York and Maryland and former nun for the Missionary Sisters of the Sacred Heart, Mother Cabrini Order, Maryrose took great joy in educating children for over 40 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Rocco DiPillo; her parents Giuseppe and Carmela Scotto and her brother, Anthony Scotto. Maryrose "Cookie" is survived by her life partner, John Ward; her siblings, Theresa Bracco and her late husband Thomas; Santo Frank Scotto and his wife, Marie; Joseph Scotto and his wife, Barbara, Maureen Scotto, widow of brother Anthony and Sal Scotto and his wife, Agnes. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews who will miss her dearly.
The family will receive visitors at Singleton Funeral Home, 1 Second Avenue SW (at Crain Hwy) on Thursday May 4, from 3-5 & 7-9 pm. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Leo Catholic Church 227 S. Exeter St., Baltimore, MD 21202 on Friday May 5 at 10:30 am.
