Robert Matikiewicz

Robert Peter Matikiewicz, age 66, passed away on June 8th, 2016 in his Pasadena home. Robert (better known at Bob) was born on July 21, 1949 in Baltimore, MD to Peter and Clara Matikiewicz. He graduated Mount Saint Joseph High School and later joined the United States Marines, serving during the Vietnam War. After an honorable discharge from the Marines, he received a Bachelor degree from University of Baltimore. He joined the Baltimore City Police Force in 1974 and, after several years, transferred to the Anne Arundel County Police Department, where he retired as a Sergeant. He stayed busy for several years after retirement, working for Budget Truck and Car Rentals. During his life he enjoyed the simple things, boating and fishing, reading and going to Skyline Drive.
He is survived by his children Shelly (Matikiewicz) Hodge (husband Ross) and Jim Matikiewicz; grandchildren, Emery and Reed Hodge; companion of 15 years, Karen Johnson; Karen's children, David Johnson, Brittany Johnson and Brandy Johnson; Hazel Kumi (daughter of Brittany Johnson.); former wife, Donna Matikiewicz; sisters, Barbara Adams (husband Minor) and Rita Swift (husband Tom; 13 nieces and nephews; and 19 great nieces and nephews.
Bob was preceded in death by his father Peter Matikiewicz, mother Clara Matikiewicz, and sister Carolyn Meyer (husband Joe).

The family will receive visitors at Singleton Funeral & Cremation Services, P.A., 1 2nd Ave. SW (at Crain Highway) on Sunday June 19th from 12-2pm and 4-6pm followed by a Prayer Service in the funeral home chapel at 6pm. He will be honored at and his remains moved to Crownsville Veterans Cemetery at a later date.
