Ronald Snyder

Ronald "Ron" George Snyder, 79, of St. Augustine, Florida and previously of Warwick, RI, died on August 15, 2011. Ron was born in 1932 in Brooklyn, NY. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Cornell University in Ithaca, NY. Ron worked in Human Resources for Westinghouse, Leesona Corp., the University of Rhode Island and American Tourister. In 1980, he started the New England Human Resource Group and retired in 2006. Ron was also an evening instructor at URI and Bryant College. He served in the US Army as a second lieutenant in the Field Artillery. Ron volunteered his expertise in personnel at The Greenwood Community Church, Presbyterian, Warwick Community Action and Rhode Island Family Shelter. He was a member of the Outreach Committee at Memorial Presbyterian Church in St. Augustine. Ron enjoyed woodworking and sailing. He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Carolyn Snyder, and sister, Patricia Freytag. He was the devoted husband of 55 years of Carol Welch Snyder; devoted father of Lauren Cole and husband Robert, Melinda Balser and husband Jeffrey, and Douglas Snyder and companion Kay Harrison; beloved grandfather of Ashley Ritzmann and husband Ryan, Jocelyn, Brittany and Tyler Cole, James, Jillian and Madeline Balser; beloved great-grandfather of Gabriel Ritzmann.
