Sharon Mildred Engler, 73 of Glen Burnie passed away on January 3, 2022 at her residence. Sharon was born on February 6, 1948 in Baltimore to the Dorothy Engler (nee Deickman) and the late Bertram Engler. She graduated from Glen Burnie High School in 1966 and then received her Bachelor’s Degree from Towson State College in 1971. Sharon began teaching Physical Education at Glen Burnie High School in the early 1970’s. She was a member of the Glen Burnie Recreation Association, the Multiple Sclerosis Bowling League, and was the Glen Burnie Girls Softball Coach, Harundale Softball Coach and the Glen Burnie High School Softball Coach. She enjoyed coaching softball, jigsaw puzzles, bowling and spending time with her family and friends.
Along with her mother, Dorothy Engler; she is survived by her sister, Carol Cassese of Akron, OH; her brother, Paul Engler of Crofton, MD, three nieces and four nephews; and her dear friends, Barbara Moeller and Tracey Edwards, who was also her caregiver for many years. Sharon was preceded in death by her father, Bertram Engler and her brother, Gregory Engler.
A Celebration of Life Luncheon will be held on Saturday, May 14th from 1-3 PM at Singleton Celebration Center, 206 Crain Highway S, Glen Burnie, MD 21061.
