Susan Powers

On February 23, 2017, Susan G. Powers, 54, passed away at her home in Glen Burnie. Susan was born on December 22, 1962, in Baltimore, to Betty P. Gast and the late Earl L. Gast. She earned her B.S. Degree in Accounting from the University of Baltimore and she went on to become the Assistant County Auditor for Anne Arundel County. She was a Certified Public Accountant and a member of the A.I.C.P.A. Susan enjoyed horseback riding, reading, and cheering on the Orioles and Capitals. She was an accomplished pianist and a fierce Scrabble player.
Susan is survived by her beloved daughter, Meghan E. Powers (fiancé Ryan Armstrong); her devoted mother, Betty P. Gast; her loving siblings, Beverly Birchfield (husband Larry), Deborah Mignogno, Carol Rainey, and Earl Gast (wife Sibel Berzeg); her cherished horse, Sampson; her former husband, Kevin Powers; and many dear nieces & nephews. Susan was predeceased by her loving father, Earl L. Gast.
