Charles Edward Carter, 92, of Ferndale passed away on June 26, 2019 at Harbor Hospital.
Charles was one of seven children born to the late George E. and Gladys V. (Bolgiano) Carter. He grew up in Anne Arundel County and graduated from Glen Burnie High School. After High School he begin a very successful career with the Air Force. A career that he was very proud of, and often enjoyed reflecting and sharing stories. He served his country faithfully in WWII in Asiatic-Pacific Theater. One assignment he was proud of and enjoyed talking about was in Anchorage, Alaska during the Cold War. After retirement he eventually settled back in Ferndale. He enjoyed collecting stamps and coins. He also enjoyed computer programming and collecting old computer equipment.
He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Janice Jacobs, Curtis Carter, Dorothy Light, Don Carter; and his longtime companion Rosalinde Hall, whose companionship enriched his life in many ways.
He is survived by his brothers, Howard “Gene” Carter (Susan), and Vernon “Butch” Carter; and his devoted friend & caregiver, Betty “Betsy” Sanger; and a host of nieces and nephews.
The family will receive visitors at Singleton Funeral & Cremation Services, P.A., located at 1 2nd Avenue, S.W. (at Crain Highway), Glen Burnie, Maryland 21061, on Sunday, June 30, 2019, from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. and from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Funeral Service will be held at Singleton Funeral & Cremation Services, P.A. on Monday, July 1, 2019, at 1:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Interment at Maryland Veterans Cemetery in Crownsville.
