Viola Payne

On October 20, 2018, Viola Mildred Payne, 81, of Cape St. Claire, passed away at Future Care Chesapeake in Arnold. She was born on October 18, 1937, in Baltimore, Maryland, to the late Viola and Thomas Pendergast. She worked as a clerk at AandP and Sears and was very active in the Arundel Chapter of Order of the Eastern Star, serving as past Worthy Matron from 1978-1979.
Viola is survived by her devoted husband of 60 years, George F. Payne. She was predeceased by her beloved sisters, Betty Bird, Phyllis Hasty, and Nancy Schekles.
The family will receive visitors for a memorial gathering on Sunday, October 28th, from 4-5 PM at Singleton Funeral and Cremation Services, P.A., 1 2nd Ave, SW (at Crain Hwy), in Glen Burnie. A Celebration of Life Service will be held immediately following at 5 PM.
