Wade Ritchie, Jr.

On December 19, 2021, Wade Hampton Ritchie Jr. went to receive his crown of glory. Wade was the son of Wade Ritchie Sr. and Virginia Lee, the beloved husband of the late Jean “Kay” Ritchie for 57 years and father of Wade H. Ritchie III, his wife Deborah; David Ritchie, his wife Rebecca; Timothy Ritchie, his girlfriend Kelly and the late Lyndon Ritchie. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Wade IV, Bridget, Patrick and Nicole; and his siblings, Eva Elizabeth "Sue" Ritchie, Lucille Thomas and Henry Ritchie.

Wade was born on October 24, 1931 in Concord, North Carolina, where his heart never left. He was a proud graduate of NC State, served in the Army during the Korean conflict and worked as a microbiologist for the USDA until retirement. He enjoyed his family, faith and gardening. His greatest pride and joy were his children and grandchildren. His love for them was only surpassed by his love for Kay, as he continued to wear his wedding band daily until his passing.

Visitation will be held from 2:00 to 4:00 pm and 6:00 to 8:00 pm on Tuesday, Dec. 21st at Singleton Funeral & Cremation Services, P.A., 1 2nd Ave. SW, Glen Burnie, MD 21061. A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 22nd at 11 am with a visitation prior from 10:30 to 11:00 am at Annapolis Evangelical Lutheran Church, 38 W. Central Ave., Edgewater, MD 21037. Entombment at Lakemont Memorial Gardens, Davidsonville, MD.
