William Decorsy Legg, III, a longtime resident of Linthicum, died on July 30th at Baltimore Washington Medical Center after a lengthy illness. He was 68.
Born in Baltimore, Mr. Legg was a Private Second Class in the National Guard from 1970 to 1976. He was a graduate of Baltimore College of Commerce, and worked for the State of Maryland Toll Facility for 32 years before retiring in 2002.
A member of St. Philip Neri Catholic Church in Linthicum, Bill was a caring husband and father who treasured his family and friends and was well known for his sense of humor and joking demeanor. He especially enjoyed playing games and spending time at the beach. His hobbies included kayaking, bike riding, scuba diving, and canoeing. Bill was involved with the Boy Scouts and was Scoutmaster of Troop #822.
He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Nancy Legg of Linthicum; his son, William Thomas Legg of Linthicum; his daughter, Melissa Susan Legg of Marydel, DE; his grandson, Tyler Alexander Reed of Bel Air, MD; his sister, Terry Maliszewski of Oakland; his brother, Christopher Legg of Stevensville; his cousin, Bob Butz and his wife Cindy, and several other relatives whom he loved and cherished.
